Overview

Travelnap ("the App") is a location-based nap alarm developed by 43waves. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how the App handles your data.

Data Collection

What We Don't Collect

• No personal information - We don't collect names, emails, or account data
• No usage data sent to our servers - We don't operate any servers; your settings stay on your device
• No location storage - Your location is used on your device in real time and is never saved or uploaded by us
• No analytics - We don't use any analytics or tracking services

What Stays On Your Device

• Alarm range - How close to your destination the alarm should ring
• Alert mode - Whether the alarm uses sound, vibration, both, or neither
• Theme preference - Your selected theme (System/Light/Dark)
• Alarm sound setting - Whether the alarm uses the built-in sound or a custom sound
• Custom sound - A copy of the device sound you've chosen for the alarm
• Ad cooldown - Timestamp to limit ad frequency

This data never leaves your device and can be cleared by uninstalling the app or clearing app data. Your destination and trip are kept only in memory while a trip is running and are never saved.

Location

Location is the App's core feature: while a trip is running, the App reads your device's location - including in the background, with a visible notification - and compares it on your device against your chosen destination to ring the alarm when you're within range. Your location:

• Is only accessed while a trip is running
• Is processed entirely on your device
• Is never stored, logged, or sent to us

Map and Destination Search

The App uses OpenStreetMap services to show the map and find destinations:

• Map tiles - Map images are loaded from OpenStreetMap tile servers, which receive your IP address and the map area you're viewing
• Destination search - Your search text, along with a broad area around your location (to rank nearby places higher), is sent to the OpenStreetMap Nominatim service. Your exact coordinates are not sent

These requests are handled by the OpenStreetMap Foundation as described in its Privacy Policy.

Advertising

The App displays advertisements powered by Google AdMob. When ads are shown, Google may collect certain information as described in Google's Privacy Policy. This may include:

• Device identifiers
• IP address
• General location (country/region level)
• Ad interaction data

You can learn more about Google's advertising practices and opt-out options at Google's Ads Settings. Ads are never shown while a trip is running, so nothing interrupts your wake-up alarm.

Permissions

Location

Used to measure your distance to the destination and ring the alarm when you're within range. See the Location section above - your location never leaves your device.

Notifications

Used to show the ongoing trip notification that keeps location tracking alive while you nap with the screen off.

Vibration

Used to vibrate the device when the wake-up alarm rings, if your alert mode includes vibration.

Internet Access

Used to load map tiles, search destinations, and load advertisements. The App does not transmit your settings or location over the network.

Choosing a Custom Sound

When you choose a custom alarm sound, the App opens your device's system sound picker. The App copies only the sound you select into its own private storage so it can play it when the alarm rings. The App does not browse, read, or upload any of your other files.

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The advertising shown is handled by Google AdMob, which has its own policies regarding personalized advertising.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
